Spaghetti Straps
This lesson will teach you how to prepare and sew spaghetti straps. You will learn how to create a bias strip, how to sew the straps and then how to use a loop turner to turn your fabric straps into spaghetti straps. We’ll even teach you pressing techniques so that your spaghetti straps look perfect every time.

MODULE 1 • Spaghetti Strap Development
Step | Description |
---|---|
1 | For this lesson, you will need to block and press a piece of #2 muslin measuring 14” (35.6cm) square. Draw a diagonal with a pencil to indicate the bias. |
2 | Use your tape measure to measure the length of the spaghetti strap, from the seam of the front neck point to the back neck point on your dress. |
3 | Place your bias strip muslin block on the table. On the diagonal line, measure over 1 ¼” (3.2cm) using your clear plastic ruler, to create a bias strip from one corner of the muslin block to the other. This will be for the spaghetti straps. |
