MODULE 1 • Lesson Prep

Step Description
1A For this lesson, we have prepared two pieces of #2 muslin. One piece measuring 10” (25.4cm) in the width grain by 5” (12.7cm) in the length grain. This represents the body piece.
1B The second muslin piece will be a bias strip measuring 1 ¼” (3.2cm) wide by 12” (30.5cm) long. This is your binding.
2A Place the bias strip on your ironing board. Measure and turn up a ¼” (6mm) seam allowance along the length edge of the strip, using your clear plastic ruler. You could also mark the ¼” (0.6cm) seam allowance with your pencil.
