Rendering Zebra
Learn how to hand render an exotic zebra pattern using a combination of pencil and marker. Once you have downloaded the reference swatch and the female fashion croquis supplied with this lesson, you will print the fashion croquis to use as your canvas. We will teach you how to map the zebra pattern onto the dress, following the contours of the body, and how to hold your tools to get the best results. You will also learn tricks on how to shade the illustration for a more polished effect. Adding a hand rendered zebra pattern gives a creative boost to your portfolio.

1 | Start, by downloading the fashion croquis and the reference swatch supplied with this lesson. Print the fashion croquis to use as your canvas. |
2 | Begin this lesson by testing your colored marker first, on a piece of scrap paper. With the beveled-edge side of your Eggshell marker, proceed to lay in the foundation color for the dress. Start at the right shoulder and continue down the side of the dress to the hip area. Add a shadow to the side of the dress. |
