MODULE 1 • MAPPING THE FLOWERS
Step | Description |
---|---|
1 | Start, by downloading the fashion croquis and reference swatch supplied with this lesson. Print the fashion croquis to use as your canvas. |
2 | Tilt the drawing so that it is in the most comfortable position and referring to your fabric swatch placed next to the croquis, begin mapping the flower pattern to the figure’s right shoulder. Notice that the flower pattern breaks at the area of the folds and at the seam lines. |
3 | Continue to map the flowers along the right front bodice, along the sleeve, down the right-side of the dress with a few flowers drawn onto the left-side of the skirt. Note the folds of the skirt and how the flower pattern breaks at the folds. Draw the flowers loose, not tight, so that they don’t all look alike. |
