Lapped Seam Finish
This lesson will teach you how to sew a lapped seam finish. This finish can be used when working with fabrics or other materials where the edges won’t fray. This is a very popular finish for garments made from double-faced wool, leather or faux leather and suede.

1 | For this lesson, we cut two pieces of a double-face wool fabric, measuring 6” (15.2cm) in the width grain and 5” (12.7cm) in the length grain of the fabric. We are using two colors to better illustrate the technique. This seam finish can be used on any garment where the fabric edges don’t fray. |
