1 Today’s lesson is Textiles 2, an introduction to High-Tech textiles. Included is a description of the basic types of high-tech textiles and their behavioral characteristics. A profile of the major high-tech textiles is listed. Let’s start with the history of high-tech textiles. About two decades ago, offshore production increased. Fabric mills and garment factories expanded in the Asian region, as more U.S. apparel companies focused on lower costs and higher volumes of production.
