Drawing Female Side Back Pose
Learn how to draw the back of a female fashion figure at a ¾ back angle view.
This lesson teaches you the quick and easy 10 head method, just like you would learn at a fashion college.
You will learn body proportion, anatomy and how to use your tools for the best results. Use this pose when you want to show the back of your design using a more dramatic pose.
Move on our detail drawing lesson, drawing the Female Head, Hands and Feet. In no time you will be ready to advance to the Intermediate level.
|1||Planning the Figure||1-4|
|2||Mapping the Gesture||1-12|
MODULE 1 • PLANNING THE FIGURE
|1||The first thing you need to do is to establish your center or plum line. Begin by centering your ruler on the page and place a mark at the midway point.|
|2||On the centerline place a mark ¼” away from the top and bottom of the page.|
|3||With your ruler or preferably by eye, draw a centerline down from the top ¼ mark to the bottom ¼ mark. Place a crossmark at the top, bottom and middle of the centerline.|
|4||We are drawing what is called a 10 headed proportion, so you will divide your line into 10 equal sections. For demonstration purposes they are numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and then 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.|
MODULE 2 • MAPPING THE GESTURE
|1||Into the first section, draw the head in profile, looking somewhat like a skull shape.|
