Drawing Pockets, Buttons and Belt Loops in AI – #3
In this lesson, you will learn how to use the Shape tools from the Toolbox. First, you will learn how to draw pockets by using the Rounded Rectangle tool and how to create topstitching by using the Pen tool options. Then, you will learn how to draw buttons by using the Ellipse tool. The end of the lesson will show you how to draw and rearrange belt loops that are usually sewn on the waistband of a basic pant or skirt.

MODULE 1 • Open a Downloaded File with Adobe Illustrator
Step | Description |
---|---|
1 | Before you start drawing, download the Adobe Illustrator file of a denim pant, located below this video. Once you have downloaded the file, save it on your desktop. |
2 | Then, highlight the thumbnail of the file by clicking on it once, open the file by right clinking on your mouse, choose the Open With selection, and then chose Adobe Illustrator. The file will automatically open the program as well. |
