Drafting an Asymmetric Neckline for Knits
This lesson will teach you how to draft an asymmetric front and back neckline for a knit top. You will learn how to read a sketch to determine certain key measurements and proportions, such as the width of the desired shoulder, the distance from the shoulder/armhole intersection and the neckline drop from center front. We will also teach you a tip on how to keep your neckline from stretching while sewing.
The sleeveless knit T-shirt sloper needed for this lesson can be found and drafted in our lesson, Drafting a Women’s Fitted Stable Knit T-Shirt from Measurements. And the fabric planned for this draft is a cotton/Lycra single knit jersey.
