Drafting a V-Neck Knit Top – 2 Variations

This lesson will teach you how to draft a V-neck knit top in 2 variations: a simple V-neck with clean finished neckline and the other with a mitered V-neckband. Referring to each fashion sketch, you will learn how to interpret the position of certain measurements, such as the front V-neck drop and how far away from the shoulder/neck intersection the V- neckline sits.

MODULE 1 • V-neck Clean Finished Neckline

Step	Description
1A	In this lesson, you will learn how to draft two variations of a V-neck knit top: a simple V-neck clean finish neckline and the other with a mitered V-neckband.
1B	We will begin the V-neck clean finish knit top by interpreting certain measurements on our sketch, such as how low to drop the neckline, in this case 6” (15.2cm) and how much to open the neckline at the shoulder, in this case ½” (1.3cm) on both front and back.
