MODULE 1 • Planning the Front & Back Jacket Block

Step Description
1 This lesson will require you to prepare a sheet of paper unlined measuring 30” (76.2cm) by 38” (96.5cm).
2 Step number one, is to draw a straight line that runs parallel to your grain, about 1 ½” (3.8cm) in from the edge of the paper and mark a point on that line, 2” (2.51cm) down. That point will be called point #1.
3 And, from point #1, we measure all the way, take the measurement of the base of the neck to the waist (#27 Center Front – Neck Base to Natural Waist), which in our case is 18.5” (47cm), we did that in the back upper body sloper. So, that’s 18 plus .5, and I am going to label that, point #2. And that is going to be my waist reference point. It’s good always to annotate.
