Drafting a Legging

This lesson will teach you how to draft a legging, jegging or yoga pant in four-way stretch, using either a pant form or from actual body measurements. You will also learn how to draft a separate, elasticized waistband and a ‘self,’ or what is known in the industry as a ‘grown-on’ waistband. This draft will also be used as the foundation for a boy, tank short and bike short.

MODULE 1 • Lesson Prep – Extract & Record Measurements

Step Description
1 Today’s lesson is how to draft a legging. This could actually be used, in addition, for a legging, jegging, yoga pant, or bike pant.
2 You’ll need your dress form, or a pant form.
3 You’ll need to do this in a four-way stretch fabric, to compensate for the movement that is going to be required.
