Drafting a Child’s Basic Pant (Pants)
You can either use our Child Pant (Pants) Sizing Chart or actual body measurements we will teach you how to draft a child’s basic pant sloper. In this lesson we will demonstrate how to extract the necessary measurements from a size 5 pant form and provide you with a handy measurement form for you to record those measurements. You will learn how to draft and fit the pants before you transfer the pant sloper to oaktag.

MODULE 1 • Lesson Prep
Step | Description |
---|---|
1 | Begin by finding the widest part of the child’s hip, and style tape on the dress form, making sure it’s parallel to the floor. |
2A | We will next record our pant form measurements on the downloadable form provided, or you could refer to our Standard Pant Measurement Chart. |
2B | First measurement will be the waist. So, center front to the side seam. Record your measurement. |
