Double-stitched Seam Finish

Double-stitched Seam Finish

Double-stitched Seam Finish

This lesson is the double-stitched seam finish, a seam finish that is appropriate for sheer fabrics like organza, voile, chiffon and georgette. You will learn how to create this seam finish, which is a great choice for full skirts and dresses where there may be some stress on the seam and when you want the seam allowance to be minimally visible.

For other sheer seam options, view our lessons: Single Edge Seam Finish, Mock French Seam Finish and French Seam Finish.

For sheer hem options, view our lessons: Hand-rolled Hem Finish, Machine-foot Baby Hem, Tailored Edge/Baby Hem, Horsehair Hem Finish, Ribbon-edge Hem Finish and Wide Straight-grain Hem Finish.
