Dart-Sewing Techniques
Most sewers don’t realize that there are special techniques required when sewing garment darts. In this lesson you will learn these techniques and a few tricks on how to sew curved darts, straight darts and even shaped or fitted darts.

MODULE 1 • Sewing a Straight Dart
| Step | Description |
|---|---|
| 1 | In this lesson we are going to learn to sew a straight dart and a shaped or fitted dart. |
| 2 | The first dart I am going to sew is the straight dart, and, notice that I pinned on the line and through to the other chalk line. |
| 3 | When you are sewing a straight dart, start at the wide end. You will want to back tack at the wide end and then continue sewing along the line. |
