Silvia Perramon

Silvia Perramon is a master beader/embroiderer who also teaches advanced couture sewing techniques at UoF. Ms. Perramon's tambour beading lessons on the UoF website are among our most popular lessons.

Silvia Perramon was born in Spain. After studying architecture in 2012 at Universidad Internacional de Cataluña, in 2014, she studied hand embroidery in Kentucky at Bead Embroidery & Design Studio. In 2017, she furthered her studies at Scuola di Ricamo Alta Moda in Rome. In addition to her fashion interests, Ms. Perramon trained at the London's Royal Academy of Dance in classical ballet.

Ms. Perramon's early architectural work led her to Hangzhou, China. But it was her passion for embroidery, and her desire to deepen those skills that led her to study those arts in Mumbai and then in New York City, where she applied her knowledge of these techniques to fashion.

Ms. Perramon's is now based in Milano, where she is an embroidery design consultant for numerous fashion brands. She is often invited to Parsons School of Design as a guest teacher for their couture classes, and twice a year teaches hand embroidery in private New York workshops. Meanwhile, Silvia is now creating art with her embroideries, blending together all of her disciplines and backgrounds.

In 2018, Silvia Perramon was awarded first place in the category of Hand Embroidery/Textile Art work by London's Hand & Lock Prize for Embroidery.
