Ruchira Amare
Ruchira Amare is an up and coming designer who holds an engineering degree from the University of Mumbai and who graduated, with honors, from Parsons School of Design with a BFA in fashion design. She has worked for several New York designers such as Donna Karen, Laura Smalls and Peter Speliopoulous.
In addition to specializing in Italian tailoring techniques and zero waste sustainable design, Ruchira works with a variety of mediums, including leather, fur and exotic skins, under her own label, Y. R. Egon.
Ruchira has also trained under various artists in India, which has helped her to grow as an artist/designer. She was recently selected to exhibit her art work in The Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit, curated by John Dibase, for their 80th year showing. At UoF, Ruchira teaches tailoring techniques and fashion illustration lessons. You can view her work on http://ruchiraamare.squarespace.com
