Carol Brathwaite
Carol Brathwaite is an Adjunct Instructor at City Tech, the New York City College of Technology where she teaches classes in textiles, as well as fashion marketing. Carol spent 10 ½ years as a Senior Technician with Con Edison’s Chemical and Environmental Lab in New York, as well as worked in various fashion-marketing positions at Revlon’s Product Development & Marketing and at New York Model Management, Inc.
In 2003, Carol graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology summa cum laude. Shortly after, she entered graduate school and obtained an MBA at Nova Southeastern University. In January 2006, Carol began her doctoral studies in Retail Merchandising at Florida State University. During that period, she taught Textiles and Textiles & Apparel in the Global Economy. As a research assistant, she worked with professors on mass customization, consumer behavior and acculturation and assimilation. Although she achieved “doctoral candidate” status, after passing the preliminary evaluations (ABD), Carol placed her doctoral studies on hold to pursue a career in higher education. Carol has taught courses in Textile Sciences, Global Fashion Economics, International Business, Marketing, International Marketing, Services Marketing, Fashion Merchandise, Retail Buying, Merchandise Planning & Control, and Entrepreneurship.
