The University of Fashion Celebrates First Birthday

Happy 1st birthday to the University of Fashion!  The U of F turned one on July 4th, and we would like to take this opportunity to look back on our first year as your online destination for fashion design instruction.  With 20,000 subscribers over the past year alone, we are as excited to look back as we are forward.  We are so grateful for you, our subscribers, as well as our talented teachers who have so generously shared their skills and knowledge following the mission of keeping the art and craft of fashion design alive!

The University of Fashion’s history began long before launching our site, however, since our official launch last July, we have so much to celebrate.  Most importantly, we are thrilled that by using our self-paced instructional videos in each of the University of Fashion’s 6 disciplines (Draping, Pattern Making, Sewing, Fashion Art, Fashion Product Development and Fashion Business Connections), emerging designers from around the world are inspired and learning fashion design.

Over the past year, we have built relationships with esteemed fashion design schools including FIT, Parsons, Columbia College Chicago, Brooklyn College and Oregon State University. We now proudly serve as an educational resource to these students and look forward to extending our resource library to universities such as the Academy of Art University in the upcoming months.

We have offered our subscribers free resources and featured our talented students’ work.  Our team of Francesca (Founder/CEO), Jeff (CFO/Chairman of the U of F Board), Brad (Director of Video Production), Myrna (Education Sales Consultant), Chen (Web Content Manager) and Mitch (Video Editor) is dedicated to bringing you the highest quality fashion design instruction and the latest news in the world of fashion.

In the coming year, we are proud to join the Maker’s Movement as we add the University of Fashion’s video library to over 100 public and school libraries across the U.S. and Canada.  The Maker’s Movement brings people together to create, upgrade skills, inspire and even provide career information – a founding philosophy at the University of Fashion.   For information on how you can bring the University of Fashion to your local library, look here.

Join us in celebrating our first birthday with $10 OFF YOUR FIRST MONTH when you sign up for our monthly recurring subscription.  Through October, enter the promo code: UNIVFASH-14 when signing up and enjoy a month of online fashion design learning for only $9.95.  At $19.95 per month, or for a yearly membership of only $145.00, we are proud to make quality fashion design education affordable for all.  We thank you for your continued support and look forward to empowering designers with the best online fashion design education in the year to come!
