As always, the more “tricks you have up your sleeve” as a well-rounded designer, the more likely you are to be able to communicate effectively with factories and ultimately your clients.

Julia Ramsey does a masterful job of hand-crafting one of a kind knit pieces in her studio in Pennsylvania, while Degen has a very youthful, playful take on knitwear. Also notice the chunky knits by Stella McCartney in the header – take a look at her entire F/W 2015 collection on Vogue.com as a good example of how to incorporate knits and wovens seamlessly to create a varied offering for clients.
