Wool Hem Finishes Compilation
This lesson is how to sew various wool hem finishes that can be used on variety of fabrics like wool flannel, gabardine, tropical worsteds or wool blends. You will learn the Hong Kong bound, hem tape, pinked and stitched and overlocked & stitched hem finish. We will teach you how to sew a Hong Kong bound finish which is often used in couture garments and the hem tape finish, one of the more popular finishes.
The pinked & stitched hem finish is a favorite in menswear and used with wools that don’t fray much and you will learn how to use the overlock machine to create the most popular hem finish, the overlock. In addition to hem finishes, we will teach you how to hand stitch a catchstitch hem.
One of the best ways to have your designs look more professional is to choose the appropriate hem finish. Add to your library of hem finish samplers by viewing our Sheer Hem compilation lesson.
