Velvet Blind Stitch-Double Overcast
Learn how to sew a blind stitch hem with a double overcast edge. This technique will add a couture touch to any of your fabrics that have a tendency to ravel. You will find that by learning how to sew type of hem finish it will become one of your favorites.

MODULE 1 • Lesson Prep
|1||For this lesson, we have prepared a piece of velvet measuring 10” (25.4cm) wide x 8” (20.32cm) long.|
|2||We will be using an open top thimble and 6 Strand cotton embroidery floss for demonstration purposes. You would want to use matching cotton thread if this were an actual garment hem.|
|3||Place your thimble on your middle finger and then cut a 15” (38.1cm) strand from the embroidery floss package.|
