MODULE 1 • Sewing a Straight Buttonhole

Step Description
1 For this lesson we have attached the buttonhole machine attachment that came with our sewing machine.
2 Our button is placed into the buttonhole attachment, as demonstrated. We have set our machine to the straight buttonhole setting and the size of the hole that we will need for our particular size button. In this case, 1” (2.54cm).
3 We have prepared a piece of fabric with fusible interfacing between the fabric layers to keep the buttonhole from stretching and we have pre-marked our buttonhole on the fabric.
