MODULE 1 • Lesson Prep

Step Description
1 To begin, prepare 2 pieces of fabric, measuring 6” wide cut in the width grain x 12” long cut in the length grain of the fabric. The edges have been pinked to prevent the fabric from unraveling.
2 Identify the right side of the fabric. Then using your tailor’s chalk, mark an X on the wrong sides of both fabric pieces.
3 Also, on the wrong sides of the fabric pieces, measure and draw a line for ¾” seam allowance. On one piece from the left length edge, and on the other piece from the right length edge. These are the stitching guidelines for the zipper placement.
