Female Relaxed Standing Pose
This beginner lesson will teach you how to draw the female relaxed standing pose. Just like they teach in fashion college, you will learn how to draw the Croquis using the 10 head method.
You’ll also learn body proportion and anatomy so that your female figure is technically accurate. Once you have perfected the technique, you’ll be ready to move on to the intermediate level.

MODULE 1 • PLANNING THE FRONT
|1||The first thing you need to do is to establish your center line on the page. Draw a line either with your ruler or, by eye. Leave 1/4 “ on the top and bottom of the page.|
|2||Divide that line in half and place a mark. This marks the centerline.|
|3||We will be drawing what is called a 10 headed proportion, so you will divide your line into 10 equal sections. I have numbered them 1, 2, 3. 4. 5 and I’ll do the same thing on the bottom 6 , 7, 8, 9. 10.|
MODULE 2 • MAPPING THE FRONT GESTURE
|1||Begin by drawing the head, an upside down egg shape. Your head should not be too round or too linear. If the first time you draw the head it isn’t perfect, don’t take your pencil off the page, just continue around using your old line as your guide until you get the right head shape.|
|2||Using the head measurement, start the shoulder line at 1 ½ heads which is ¾” below the bottom of the head.|
